I want to quote David Hayward\u2019s helpful comments about today\u2019s cartoon<\/a> before sharing the cartoon, since, as David himself emphasizes, the cartoon depicts a misconception and not the way he thinks things ought to be viewed:<\/p>\n

This cartoon was inspired by Neil Tyson\u2019s famous quote:<\/p>\n

\u201cGod is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance that\u2019s getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time goes on.\u201d<\/p>\n

You know he said this in response to the naive statement believers often make:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t understand it- God did it.\u201d<\/p>\n

I agree with Tyson: using belief as an excuse for ignorance is a dying maneuver. Hiding from the rising tide of scientific discovery behind faith is doomed.<\/p>\n

Actually this cartoon represents the false because dualistic worldview. It believes in a god that is a separate entity rather than The All in all. With this mindset the concept of God and science will always be in competition for our allegiance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no separation, distinction or conflict.\u00a0Reality is reality is reality. Truth is truth is truth. Reality rules. Truth rules.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
