We were discussing technological and genetically-engineered enhancements to human (and non-human) existence in my Religion and Science Fiction<\/a> class today, and an interesting question came up. Could genetic engineering be used to make a pig that not only \u201ccloveth the hoof\u201d but also \u201ccheweth the cud\u201d and thus be kosher<\/a>?<\/p>\n

It turns out this question has been asked before \u2013 after class I did a quick search and came across a post on Daniel Radosh\u2019s blog on the topic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What do you think? Can genetic engineering give the world kosher bacon<\/a>?<\/p>\n
