Daniel and Tonya expressed their disappointment<\/a> that an app that\u00a0made the iPad\u00a0look like\u00a0a Star Trek device has been withdrawn. I would like to point out that PCs already exist that meet StarFleet specifications.<\/p>\n

First, for less than the price of an iPad<\/a>\"\"<\/span>, get yourself an Asus Eee PC Tablet<\/a>\"\"<\/span>. It is a full-fledged PC, running Windows 7, with a keyboard if you want to use it, and needless to say capable of multitasking.<\/p>\n

Next, make your desktop background<\/a> an LCARS<\/a> image.<\/p>\n

Install the LCARS screen saver<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you are a Trekker, also install the LCARS media player<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you are a Trekkie, change the icons<\/a> on your desktop to something StarFleet. If someone makes icons that look like LCARS \u2018buttons\u2019, please let me know!<\/p>\n

Who needs an iPad, when they clearly aren\u2019t made to StarFleet specifications? <\/p>\n
