In the near future I may be involved in working with one or two students interested in doing some Biblical Hebrew as an independent study. This would certainly not have the same format as a class with a significant number of students\u00a0that met 2-3 times each week. And so I thought I\u2019d see whether any readers who have taught or studied Hebrew recently have recommendations on books and perhaps other educational materials (such as CDs or software). I know a lot has been published since Lambdin<\/a>\"\", and would value having more recent textbooks drawn to my attention<\/span> \u2013 in particular ones that are useful for the format of supervised\u00a0by semi-independent learning.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m also curious, since this got some discussion on blogs a while back,\u00a0whether anyone has approaches Biblical Hebrew either through, or in conjunction with, the learning of modern Hebrew. I\u2019m familiar with some educational resources for modern Hebrew<\/a>\"\"<\/span> and am interested in finding ways to utilize at least some of them to facilitate student language acquisition.<\/p>\n
