<\/iframe>\n<\/p>I was looking recently for an amusing song to convey key points about information literacy to students. Since I didn\u2019t find something that was in a style I could relate to, I made this. It is goofy, but it\u2019s supposed to me. Hope you enjoy it!<\/p>\nLyrics:<\/p>\n<blockquote>Viva la Library (The Information Literacy Song)<\/strong><\/p>\nI used to search the web<\/p>\nBelieving stuff random people said<\/p>\nThought that my roommate was such a nerd<\/p>\nWhen to the library he referred<\/p>\nI used to roll the dice<\/p>\nType some keywords and close my eyes<\/p>\nPush the button, trust it would bring<\/p>\nAnswers to all my questions, everything<\/p>\nI thought that Google held the key<\/p>\nUntil I saw my grade was a \u201cD\u201d<\/p>\nAnd I discovered that success depends<\/p>\nUpon wise use of sources I understand<\/p>\nCHORUS<\/p>\nJSTOR has stuff that\u2019s peer reviewed<\/p>\nWikis are written by God-knows-who<\/p>\nGoogle Books keeps so much concealed<\/p>\n\u2018Til I add \u201cscholar\u201d in the search field<\/p>\nI need\u00a0 reasons I can explain<\/p>\nResearch takes so much more than<\/p>\nMaking a random guess<\/p>\nThe way I used to search the net<\/p>\nIt was the wicked and wild wind<\/p>\nMade me decide I had best stay in<\/p>\nI need to pick a librarian\u2019s brain<\/p>\nBut without going out in the pouring rain<\/p>\nThey were waiting all this time<\/p>\nReady to chat with me online<\/p>\nJust to tell me things I should have known<\/p>\nOh who knew you could research from home?<\/p>\nCHORUS<\/p>\nEBSCO has much you\u2019re looking for<\/p>\nNetLibrary, ebooks galore<\/p>\nI use articles, I use books<\/p>\nBut even then take a closer look<\/p>\nThese authors have real expertise<\/p>\nJust look at their online CVs<\/p>\nFinding an honest source<\/p>\nThat\u2019s what helped me pass the course<\/p>\nJSTOR has stuff that\u2019s peer reviewed<\/p>\nWikis are written by God-knows-who<\/p>\nKnowledge by Google Books revealed<\/p>\nWhen I add \u201cscholar\u201d in the search field<\/p>\nNow I\u2019ve reasons \u2013 I can explain<\/p>\nThat\u2019s a scholar \u2013 I searched their name<\/p>\nNo more a random guess<\/p>\nThe way I used to search the net<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"I was looking recently for an amusing song to convey key points about information literacy to students.
