But it isn\u2019t. <em>Geez<\/em> magazine is looking for people \u2013 not necessarily Christians! \u2013 who can produce sermons that get away from the tired and painful familiar cliches. You could win up to $500, and I know some readers of this blog might be up for trying! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geezmagazine.org\/participate\/contest\/30-more-sermons-youd-never-hear-in-church\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Click through for more details<\/a>\u00a0(and see the video below).<\/p>\n<p>Since there is a fee for submissions, you might not be interested in entering. But I still thought it was worth mentioning the contest here, if only to raise the subject of sermons. I\u2019ve been moving in the direction of the flipped classroom, and there have been a few discussions about the possibility of a flipped church \u2013 having the sermon printed or recorded and available beforehand, and then using time in church for discussion and other things. What do you think?
