The book my students are currently reading in my freshman seminar course is Margaret Atwood\u2019s\u00a0The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/i><\/a>. Today we talked about a number of topics, ranging from science fiction as social commentary to theocracy to the use of the Bible to justify social structures.<\/p>\n

Around the blogosphere recently, there have been a number of posts that relate to the Bible, fundamentalism, gender, society, and other topics that intersect with (and in) the novel.<\/p>\n
