Some people there hadn\u2019t encountered the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.illustratedbiblestories.ca\/images\/Elisha_8.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">story<\/a> before. It led to an interesting discussion about the fact that some use the rhetoric of \u201cbelieving the whole Bible\u201d even when they aren\u2019t sure what it would mean to \u201cbelieve in\u201d such stories, or what to do with them.<\/p>\n<p>Later I found myself wondering why a God with the power to send bears to maul mockers wouldn\u2019t simply restore Elisha\u2019s hair instead. It seems like a preferable solution for all involved,\u00a0not to mention that\u00a0it\u00a0would constitute a more\u00a0convincing miracle.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps that was the divine command given, and the angels sent on the mission misunderstood \u201chairs\u201d as \u201cbears\u201d?<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none;border-left: medium none;border-right: medium none;border-top: medium none;clear: both;text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-2470876085852308273?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today the story of Elisha and the she-bears (2 Kings 2:23-25)\u00a0came up in Sunday school class.
