Today the third of the three classes I\u2019m teaching this semester met for the first time. It\u2019s an upper-level course on the Gospel of John, which most people know is a longstanding interest of mine. <\/p>\n
That\u2019s not entirely unrelated to the fact that this is apparently \u201cinternational de-lurking week<\/a>.\u201d If you are a lurker on this blog, this week you are supposed to gather up your courage and leave a comment<\/a>.<\/p>\n How does that relate to teaching? Well, almost every class (and particularly ones with larger numbers of students) include \u201clurkers\u201d who sit and listen but don\u2019t join in. I hope that if you are a student who tends to be in this category, you\u2019ll find the courage not just to leave a comment on a blog this week, but also to say something in class.
