It\u2019s an upper-level course on the Gospel of John, which most people know is a longstanding interest of mine. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not entirely unrelated to the fact that this is apparently \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/mattandjesskelley.blogspot.com\/2010\/01\/hey-lurkers-come-out-of-woodwork.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheParsonageFamily+%28The+Parsonage+Family%29&amp;utm_content=Google+Reader\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">international de-lurking week<\/a>.\u201d If you are a lurker on this blog, this week you are supposed to gather up your courage and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blisstree.com\/breastfeeding123\/international-delurking-week-2010\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">leave a comment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>How does that relate to teaching? Well, almost every class (and particularly ones with larger numbers of students) include \u201clurkers\u201d who sit and listen but don\u2019t join in. I hope that if you are a student who tends to be in this category, you\u2019ll find the courage not just to leave a comment on a blog this week, but also to say something in class.
