There were some clever mash-ups of science fiction names and titles with Christmas carols and other such things. One of my favorites was \u201cAway Team in a Manger.\u201d Not surprisingly, there have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deviantart.com\/art\/Star-Trek-Nativity-149994153\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">several Star Trek themed nativities<\/a>. Here\u2019s one example:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2013\/12\/Star-Trek-Nativity1.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20204 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2013\/12\/Star-Trek-Nativity1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"389\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is worth mentioning once again that a manger is a feeding trough, and so this does not actually depict an away team in one of those. Jesus was probably not born in a stable, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2012\/12\/jesus-was-not-born-in-a-manger.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">he certainly wasn\u2019t born in a manger<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is probably also worth mentioning that, in the traditional calendar, this is the second day of Christmas, and so it is not too late to share nativity sets (science fictional or otherwise) nor to sing carols.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A blog commenter\u00a0as well as someone on Twitter drew my attention to the #SciFiXmas hashtag that had been trending on Twitter.
