Hiro makes repeated attempts to change history by stealing the toner from photocopiers, but to no avail. Eventually, he talks to the person on the top of the building and changes his mind.

We may not be able to change the past, but in this case neither could Hiro to any real extent. And so the storyline gives us a great message about how to change the future. It isn’t by simply removing opportunities to get into trouble, but by personal interaction and changing our minds and, as a result, the courses of our lives.

Maybe the best part about watching Heroes is learning Japanese and finding you understand a few words here and there in the conversations between Japanese-speaking characters (e.g. “moshi moshi”, “nani o shimasu ka?”). I’m going to have to try to learn a little Korean before the next season of LOST begins.
