But the picture above which <a href=\"http:\/\/scottpaeth.typepad.com\/main\/2014\/02\/jesus-wants-you-heavily-armed.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Scott Paeth shared<\/a> gets at the heart of the matter, with the obvious disconnect between the words attributed to Jesus and the weapon he is holding. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/formerlyfundie\/jesus-carries-an-ar15\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Benjamin Corey\u2019s post<\/a> also contains some interesting pictures of a similar sort).<\/p>\n<p>I remember the reaction when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2013\/02\/djesus-uncrossed-vs-christ-crucified-proggod.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">I blogged about the SNL skit Djesus Uncrossed<\/a>, which depicted Jesus returning violently. How can this possibly be offensive satire, and yet what Jerry Boykin has said be a reasonable view for a Christian to hold?
