I apologize that I didn\u2019t manage to find the time until now to mention the conversation about ancient Gnostic intellectuals that has been taking place lately.<\/p>\n

Read Larry Hurtado\u2019s post<\/a> that sparked the discussion, April DeConick\u2019s response<\/a>, Larry Hurtado\u2019s reply<\/a>, \u00a0as well as contributions by Mike Bird<\/a> and Jared Calaway<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I think it is fair to sum things up by saying that neither all Gnostics nor all proto-orthodox Christians were intellectuals, and that neither group was devoid of intellectuals.<\/p>\n
