But they shared some silliness as though it were serious, mentioning a group that claims that each Hebrew letter is not really a letter but a word. That would mean, as one commenter pointed out, that Hebrew has a grand total of 22 words. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bryanbibb.com\/archive\/2014\/05\/01\/self-defining-hebrew-and-essentially-literal-translation\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bryan Bibb offers a useful critique<\/a> which points out how this absurd nonsense connects with more widespread views and desires related to the translation of the Bible. The aim seems to be to allow <em>anyone<\/em> to \u201ctranslate\u201d Hebrew with no need for linguistics, scholars, or anything else to do with that highfalutin book lernin\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23424\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2014\/05\/Chronicle_Gen1-1024x499.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"717\" height=\"349\"><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How the article made it onto CNN, I have no idea.
