As that post, \u201cAnointed? \u2026 Evangelicals and Authority 1,\u201d points out<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ken Ham, with no scientific credentials, no credentials in biblical scholarship, no evidence, and no research program, has become the front person, the spokesman for a large segment of evangelicalism. He proves nothing, he asserts what he finds to be truth and tells a story to make it so.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/j-walkblog.com\/images2\/prphetofignorance.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"152\">Why do people continue to fall for the charlatans who oppose evolution rather than believing any of the many <a href=\"http:\/\/thechurchofjesuschrist.us\/2011\/11\/scott-mcknight-reviews-gibersons-annointed\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheChurchOfJesusChrist+%28The+Church+of+Jesus+Christ%29&amp;utm_content=Google+Reader\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Christians<\/a> who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/michael-zimmerman\/peace-breaks-out-in-the-w_b_1065821.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">actually work in the field of biology and would most likely know what they are talking about<\/a>? Why do they believe the people who ride roughshod over the Bible rather than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/peterenns\/2011\/11\/taking-to-pastors-about-adam-and-evolution-options\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">the scholars<\/a> who treat it with the attention and respect it deserves?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the answer is \u201cpride\u201d: many Christians felt left playing a defensive game, adapting their beliefs as science progresses and makes inroads in understanding processes that were once pointed to as evidence of God. Anti-evolutionism lets Christians go on the offensive, challenging well-documented credible science in the name of their faith.<\/p>\n<p>But while being on the attack provides one with a stimulating rush and a boost to morale and ego, isn\u2019t it more important to actually be <em>right<\/em> about both the Bible and science? If so, then<a href=\"http:\/\/j-walkblog.com\/index.php?\/weblog\/comments\/ken_ham_described\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> people like<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/anatheistviewpoint.blogspot.com\/2011\/02\/more-creationist-lies.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ken Ham<\/a> are obviously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uky.edu\/OtherOrgs\/GainesCenter\/2011_boone_video.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">not the ones to be looking to<\/a> in order to accomplish that.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-qrLyMKESyoo\/TWAtfO8-ynI\/AAAAAAAADB0\/Okbkp7bpFDY\/s1600\/ham.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"378\"><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>That question, \u201cWhy is Ken Ham believed?\u201d, is an important, insightful and puzzling one raised by RJS on the blog Jesus Creed.
