Considering that it is five volumes, less than $875 for 3932 pages with 869 illustrations is actually not quite as outlandish as it first sounds, at least not when compared with other academic volumes. Although I still laugh less at the price of the Handbook for the Study of the Historical Jesus<\/a> $\"\"$ <\/i> than at the idea that anyone thinks a work of some 3,300 pages, with four volumes in one, should be called a \u201chandbook.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

The work\u2019s title is The Changing World Religion Map: Sacred Places, Identities, Practices and Politics<\/a> $\"\"$ <\/i>. It is published by Springer<\/a>\u00a0and should be in print before the end of the year.<\/p>\n
