I play keyboards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clayboy.co.uk\/2011\/02\/the-hymn-you-love-to-hate-meme\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Doug Chaplin reciprocated my tagging him with a meme about CCM, by tagging me with a meme asking me to choose a hymn I love to hate<\/a>. Being forced to choose only one, I found it rather easy to pick <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cyberhymnal.org\/htm\/a\/l\/allthing.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cAll Things Bright and Beautiful\u201d because of its infamous and oft-omitted verse<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The rich man in his castle,<br>The poor man at his gate,<br>He made them, high or lowly,<br>And ordered their estate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I will gladly explain why I find this verse objectionable, but it is probably obvious, and may well be the same reason that most editors of hymnals leave the verse out.<\/p>\n<p>As for passing the meme on, I tag <a href=\"http:\/\/drjimsthinkingshop.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jim Linville<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arnizachariassen.com\/ithinkibelieve\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Arni Zachariassen<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/thechurchofjesuschrist.us\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Joel Watts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And for those more scientifically-minded, <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/19416924\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here\u2019s<\/a> a variation by <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/user832355\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ben Hillman<\/a> which not only omits the verse above, but changes other words to turn it into a hymn about evolution (HT <a href=\"http:\/\/thedispersalofdarwin.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/05\/video-evolution-made-us-all\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">several<\/a> different <a href=\"http:\/\/openparachute.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/07\/a-hymn-for-darwin-day\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">science<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/sandwalk.blogspot.com\/2011\/02\/evolution-made-us-all.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">blogs<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p>On a less musical note, <a href=\"http:\/\/ntweblog.blogspot.com\/2011\/02\/videos-on-accenting-greek.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+MarkGoodacresNTBlog+(Mark+Goodacre's+NT+Blog)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Mark Goodacre shared some videos about accenting ancient Greek<\/a>, and\u00a0<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', verdana, arial, sans-serif;font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: black\"><a href=\"http:\/\/hellenisteukontos.blogspot.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u1f29\u03bb\u03bb\u03b7\u03bd\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03b5\u03cd\u03ba\u03bf\u03bd\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2<\/a><\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: #664e38;font-weight: bold\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span>offers a treatment of <a href=\"http:\/\/hellenisteukontos.blogspot.com\/2011\/02\/how-greek-accentuation-works.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">accentuation<\/a>\u00a0of ancient Greek as well as other related subjects.<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-8169387634227111226?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let me start this music-oriented post by highlighting that\u00a0Jim Linville kindly put together a roster for a band of bibliobloggers.
