Thank you to everyone who voted. <\/p>\n<p>Of course, it may be that two people voted for me, and one for everyone else, since <a href=\"http:\/\/danielomcclellan.wordpress.com\/2011\/01\/01\/top-10-bibliobloggers-for-december-2010\/#comment-1114\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Daniel said that the total number of voters could be counted on one hand<\/a>. Or perhaps one person voted, and they voted for me? But at least I got <a href=\"http:\/\/bibliobloggerstop10.wordpress.com\/2011\/01\/01\/you-top-10-blogs-for-december-2010\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the privilege of being caricatured<\/a>. Thanks, Daniel!<\/p>\n<p>The whole ranking thing is meaningless if it is treated as\u00a0anything other than\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/biblioblogtop50.wordpress.com\/2011\/01\/01\/other-biblioblog-rankings-for-december-2010\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">a fun bit of pseudo-competition<\/a>. The number of hits\u00a0will not tell how much attention people are paying to what you write. And voting may indicate more about the motivation of a blog\u2019s readers than about the blog itself.<\/p>\n<p>Plus,\u00a0as <a href=\"http:\/\/drjimsthinkingshop.com\/2011\/01\/01\/objective-blog-rankings-or-affirmation-of-the-sexist-biblioboobosphere\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dr. Jim Linville suggests<\/a>, all this competitive posturing, even in gest,\u00a0may be one of the reasons that female bloggers avoid our company.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019m glad that <a href=\"http:\/\/mysticalseeker.blogspot.com\/2011\/01\/faith-and-doubt.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">some<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/robertcargill.com\/2011\/01\/01\/james-mcgrath-on-agnostic-christianity\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">readers<\/a> have been finding things I\u2019ve posted helpful, meaningful, entertaining, and various other things that I hoped they would be.<\/p>\n<p>And I admit that I find the fact that <a href=\"http:\/\/grebeliusredivivus.wordpress.com\/2011\/01\/01\/the-biblioblog-rankings-for-december-the-top-20\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">there is a spoof ranking using the Urim and Thummim<\/a> \u2013 an appropriate Biblical method for evaluating Biblical studies blogs!<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, life and blogging go on, and <a href=\"http:\/\/zwingliusredivivus.wordpress.com\/2011\/01\/01\/the-january-2011-biblical-studies-carnival-call-for-submissions\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jim West is already looking for submissions for the next Biblical Studies Carnival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, around the biblioblogosphere, bloggers are making resolutions (for themselves and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freeoldtestamentaudio.com\/Blog\/New.php\/?p=2048\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">in some cases for others<\/a>) and sharing intentions for the new year. <a href=\"http:\/\/kenschenck.blogspot.com\/2011\/01\/new-years-resolutions.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ken Schenck<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/clayboy.co.uk\/2011\/01\/2011-%e2%80%93-a-clay-blogessy-some-new-year-intentions\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Doug Chaplin<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/michaelhalcomb.blogspot.com\/2011\/01\/reading-greek-new-testament.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Pisteuomen-TheWeblogOfTMichaelWHalcomb+%28Pisteuomen+-+The+Weblog+of+T+Michael+W+Halcomb%29&amp;utm_content=Google+Reader\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Michael Halcomb<\/a>\u00a0are among those who have gotten the ball rolling. <\/p>\n<p>My resolutions for this year are to join the <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>Dharma<\/a> Initiative, train as a Jedi, captain a starship, learn\u00a0Klingon (largely for the purpose of family history research), and last but not least, to make fewer frivolous resolutions and more serious ones. <\/p>\n<p>If I ever get around to that last one, I will surely blog about it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-5509245904669282676?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A third method of ranking biblioblogs was introduced recently by Daniel McClellan, who decided to ignore Alexa ranking and the Lacanian-Wrongian objective scale, and take a democratic approach, asking people to vote.
