Mike Bird<\/a> has this recommendation to offer for a session that he and I are both involved in:<\/p>\n

BIG ALERT! On the Saturday [of SBL], I\u2019m speaking at the Extent of Theological Diversity section where we\u2019re reviewing Bart Ehrman\u2019s book\u00a0How Jesus Became God<\/em>\u00a0featuring Bart Ehrman, Larry Hurtado, James McGrath, Craig Evans, and Dale Martin. If you only attend one session, make it this one!<\/p>\n

If you see me running out of the above mentioned\u00a0session chased by the Ehrman fan-club\u00a0yelling \u201cCrush the religious cretin,\u201d then it means that my attempt to go Colbert on Ehrman did not quite work out well.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The same post on his blog<\/a> also tells you what you have to do at ETS in order to get him to buy you a beer.<\/p>\n

Some of those involved in the session suggested that we ought to address Ehrman\u2019s book through musical theater, but this is the first I\u2019ve heard of a Colbert Report approach. I thought perhaps, given what Ehrman suggests about Paul\u2019s Christology in the book, we could\u00a0come up with new lyrics to the Aerosmith\u00a0song \u201cAngel<\/a>\u201c\u2026<\/p>\n
