Rogue Classicism shared information about a conference on the musical reception of classical antiquity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Please, someone do a paper on Genesis (I mean the band, of course). Classical references abound. Here\u2019s one of my favorite examples \u2013 Cinema Show<\/a>, which mentions Tiresias<\/a>:<\/p>\n

One could trace this one figure through progressive rock \u2013 I discovered this evening that Tiresias also gets a passing mention in the song by Styx, \u201cCastle Walls<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n

But the keyboard solo in the latter (if one can even call it that) obviously cannot compete with the one in the former.<\/p>\n
