I know what you\u2019re thinking: \u201cThis is news?!\u201d Of course I\u2019m a heretic.<\/p>\n<p>But I must dispute the <em>reason<\/em> for the accusation. It is mere sleight of hand. He suggests that I described 1996 New Living Translation of the Bible as boring. In fact, I described its <em>title<\/em> as boring, and I stand by that.<\/p>\n<p>The title under which this particular edition was published was <em>The Book<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>Yawn.<\/p>\n<p>The title is about as non-descript and uninteresting as a title could be (although <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/boring\/dp\/0977199258?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=jamefmcgrshom-20&amp;link_code=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">this one<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=jamefmcgrshom-20&amp;l=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969&amp;o=1&amp;a=0977199258\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none;border-left: medium none;border-right: medium none;border-top: medium none;margin: 0px;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important\" width=\"1\"><\/span> is <em>more boring<\/em> in a strictly literal sense). The contents of the aforementioned translation of the Bible, however, as far as I know, contain all the violence, sex, and other things readers tend to find interesting in books. Indeed, the NLT seems to add explicit mention of sex in passages where other translations lack it \u2013 and that\u2019s not at all boring!<\/p>\n<p>At any rate, I also have my doubts about the truthfulness of one other statement Joel Watts made in that same post.
