I appreciate attempts to introduce nuance into discussions of beliefs and views. The above does better than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/2012\/10\/the-dawkins-scale.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cDawkins Scale.\u201d<\/a> But the color coding doesn\u2019t seem like it is going to be useful. Can you imagine the conversations? \u201cYou\u2019re indigo on the existence of God? As an olive drab, I simply can\u2019t understand how you can think that way! But at least you aren\u2019t one of those oranges\u2026\u201d And why are all forms of Deism the same color? Or are they different, and this is just like that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/the_slatest\/2015\/02\/26\/the_great_blue_and_black_versus_white_and_gold_dress_debate.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">dress that is blue and black<\/a> but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/2015\/02\/science-one-agrees-color-dress\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">looks white and gold to some people, some of the time<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>But seriously, it seems to me that there are still too many views \u2013 pantheism, panentheism, and polytheism \u2013 that simply don\u2019t appear on the chart at all. Or maybe they\u2019re there and I can\u2019t see them because they are in the infrared and ultraviolet ranges?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The above graphic came to my attention on Facebook.
