I resisted the temptation to rewind and freeze each time\u00a0to see if what was shown\u00a0consistently spelled actual words. Movies take\u00a0so much\u00a0longer to watch\u00a0when you do that. Sometimes\u00a0there were genuine words\u00a0(I glimpsed <em>tsedek<\/em> and <em>shelemuth<\/em>), and I\u00a0let myself be\u00a0content with that.<\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none;border-left: medium none;border-right: medium none;border-top: medium none\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none;border-left: medium none;border-right: medium none;border-top: medium none\">I really\u00a0liked the movie\u2019s \u201cscooby-dooishness\u201d (yes, that is indeed a word). There\u00a0appeared to\u00a0be genuine\u00a0black magic at work, and this led to panic and awe before Blackwood\u2019s power. But a closer look showed technology, trickery,\u00a0and manipulation.\u00a0Of course, technology can at times rightly inspire fear. But often claims to the supernatural cause a different sort of fear, one that can lead us not to question, not to reason, to simply submit, and leave ourselves open to manipulation by the forces of darkness \u2013 that is to say, by humans who know how to utilize fear to their advantage.<\/div>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-1915834286458199364?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just saw the recent Sherlock Holmes movie [SPOILER ALERT], and was surprised to find it so full of Hebrew\/Aramaic letters.
