At Crooked Creek Baptist Church today we celebrated \u201cAmazing Grace Sunday,\u201d which included\u00a0multiple versions of the traditional hymn and\u00a0other songs that\u00a0had some connection to that hymn or its theme. I don\u2019t have a recording, but here are\u00a0some videos from YouTube to give you a hint of what was involved.<\/p>\n

We opened the service with a version of\u00a0this rendition of Amazing Grace set to\u00a0the music of \u201cPeaceful Easy Feeling\u201d by the Eagles:<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\n<p>I sang the song \u201cTestimony\u201d from the\u00a0musical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/2014\/10\/amazing-grace-broadway-in-chicago.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Amazing Grace<\/a>, about the life of John Newton, who wrote the hymn:<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=w9zqb4Hx6VI\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=w9zqb4Hx6VI<\/a>\n<p>Someone else sang the\u00a0Carrie Underwood song \u201cSomething in the Water\u201d:<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Carrie Underwood - Something in the Water (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mH9kYn4L8TI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>Have you experienced worship services with an interesting theme?
