Although the points made there are important, I think that it is indeed possible to love a God who is infinite and ineffable. Scientists who <em>love reality<\/em> and love discovering even a tiny fraction more about reality are doing much the same thing. When Tillichians and others with similar theological views talk about God as \u201cBeing itself\u201d one could just as readily say \u201cReality itself.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/617S6YTCEFL._SL500_AA240_.gif\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/617S6YTCEFL._SL500_AA240_.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"240\" border=\"0\"><\/a>But it remains important, in my opinion, to have one\u2019s focus take into consideration <em>Ultimate <\/em>Reality. We all have our moral values and convictions shaped by realities that transcend us: family, community, society, and nation (to name a few). The reason for trying to acknowledge that Reality itself transcends these authorities and influences is precisely in the hope that we might at times be open to seeing things in a different way, and acknowledging (even if we can\u2019t always see it ourselves) that there is a perspective from which the limitations of our personal, communal and even human perspectives are readily noticeable.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As for loving <em>Neighbors<\/em>, personally I always preferred <em>Home and Away<\/em>\u2026<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>And now it looks like <a href=\"http:\/\/ntwrong.blogspot.com\/2009\/12\/and-now-for-something-completely.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the good Doctor has regenerated once again<\/a>. I wonder whether, once he\u2019s recovered from the process, he shall agree with me more or less than the regeneration with whom I\u2019ve been in conversation so far!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-6039449402245463517?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cNT Wrong\u201d offered an interesting response to my post about God, projection and our values.
