Pete Enns wrote a blog post<\/a> pointing out that, while there is a one word answer to the question \u201cWhat do you do for a living?\u201d that philosophers, theologians, historians, physicists, and other academics can give, if your field is Biblical studies, there is no equivalent term \u2013 you have to say something like \u201cBiblical scholar.\u201d<\/p>\nAnd so he has coined a new word, and proposes that we be called\u00a0bibliogians<\/strong>\u00a9.<\/p>\nPresumably that makes the field we study bibliology<\/strong>.<\/p>\nWhat do you think of this proposed terminology? I\u2019m not sure whether he intends for it to seriously catch on, but I think it could. But do you think it\u00a0should<\/em>? Why or why not?<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
