Indeed, I recently read a draft of a manuscript which had \u201cperiscope\u201d where \u201cpericope\u201d was meant.<\/p>\n<p>And so Bryan shared two images of the offered autocorrections on his own computer:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-30284\" src=\"http:\/\/wp.production.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2015\/05\/intertextuality-autocorrect.jpg\" alt=\"intertextuality autocorrect\" width=\"242\" height=\"138\">\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-30285\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2015\/05\/pericope-autocorrect.jpg\" alt=\"pericope autocorrect\" width=\"226\" height=\"148\"><\/p>\n<p>Hence the title of this post. I could well imagine a New Testament article in which unproofread autocorrect led to reference being made to \u201cintersexuality in this Pauline periscope\u201d or something of that sort.<\/p>\n<p>What words that ought to be in your device\u2019s dictionary are not, leading to frustrating autocorrects?
