Having (thankfully!) never been tagged with the \u201cHonest<\/a> Scrap<\/a>\u201d meme<\/a> that<\/a> has<\/a> been<\/a> circulating<\/a>, I began formulating a somewhat twisted alternative. The meme works as follows. You post five things about yourself. Four are untrue. One is true. All are so outlandish, implausible or ridiculous that no one would be inclined to believe that any<\/i> of them are true. And despite the pleas from your readers, you never divulge which is true and which are fabrications. You then tag five other people (four seriously and one person you are pretty sure would never participate).<\/p>\n

Here are mine:<\/p>\n

(1) When I am not teaching summer classes, I often spend time in Hollywood working as a stunt double for Paul Giamatti.<\/p>\n

(2) Although my wife agreed to marry me, she refused to be seen with me in public on dates until I had a PhD.<\/p>\n

(3) 9 out of 10 people who hear my voice on the phone for the first time address me as \u201cma\u2019am\u201d.<\/p>\n

(4) I leave work early with the excuse that I\u2019m going to pick up my son from school, while really I\u2019m rushing home to watch Days of our Lives<\/i>.<\/p>\n

(5) I am NT Wrong.<\/p>\n
