It may be time to redesignate the so-called \u201cGospel of Jesus\u2019 Wife<\/a>\u201d as the \u201cGospel of Grondin\u2019s Interlinear.\u201d A new development that it has taken me a couple of days to blog about, but which is still in time for the upcoming York Christian Apocrypha Symposium focused on \u201cFakes, Forgeries, and Fictions: Writing Ancient and Modern Christian Apocrypha.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Mark Goodacre<\/a> has two guest posts<\/a> by Andrew Bernhard, and there is also a post by Christian Askeland<\/a> on the ETC blog. The gist is that the \u201ctranslation\u201d of the text matches Mike Grondin\u2019s online interlinear of the Gospel of Thomas, even where the Coptic text does not fit those English words, providing strong evidence that the Gospel of Jesus\u2019 Wife was forged by someone who used that online resource.<\/p>\n

What do others think? Shall we call\u00a0it \u201cThe Gospel according to Mike\u00a0Grondin\u2019s Interlinear\u201d from now on, rather than \u201cThe Gospel of Jesus\u2019 Wife\u201d?<\/p>\n
