On the spiritual journey, the message is always to\u00a0you. The message is always telling\u00a0<em>you<\/em>\u00a0to change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000\">Now, what most people do is they use religion to try to change\u00a0other\u00a0people. It\u2019s always someone else that needs changing. No. Stop it. Once and for all. Whatever happens to you in your life is a message to\u00a0you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000\">Oh the ego wants to avoid that. So we look for something out there to change\u2013somebody not like me is always the problem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;text-align: right\">\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/store.cac.org\/Beloved-Sons-Series-Men-and-Grief-CD_p_146.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Richard Rohr<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.peteenns.com\/emotional-intelligence-and-thinking-about-god\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pete Enns shared<\/a> the quote (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/peterenns\/2013\/08\/losing-my-religion-at-least-thats-the-plan\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">twice<\/a>, as it happens) from Rohr. It is definitely worth sharing, and is simply a restatement of the point of the parable of Jesus, about trying to remove the splinter from someone else\u2019s eye, while ignoring the utility\u00a0pole in one\u2019s own.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the spiritual life, there aren\u2019t too many absolutes I can make, but this is certainly one.
