The conversation showed that he is confused about what historians investigate, because he (like conservative Christians) thinks that \u201cthe Jesus of the Bible\u201d \u2013 the one who performs miracles and so on \u2013 is the only one that matters.<\/p>\n<p>I am surprised how many people who are well-educated in other areas seem to stumble in relation to this basic point. There is no good evidence that anyone has ever done a miracle. But there is very good evidence that some of the people about whom miracle stories are told were genuinely historical individuals.
