Today I travel to the joint annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature. I will try to blog about the conference as it happens.<\/p>\n

My conference paper for this year\u2019s SBL conference will be presented in\u00a0a session of the Metacriticism of Biblical Scholarship program unit on the theme Imaginal Worlds and Biblical Studies<\/i>. It focuses on what we can learn by comparing the concept of \u201ccanon\u201d as it functions in relation to the Bible and to science fiction, with particular focus on Star Wars and Doctor Who.<\/p>\n

It will be at 1pm on Saturday, November 21st, in\u00a0A707 (Atrium Level) in the\u00a0Marriott. The other presenters are Krista Dalton and Rebecca Raphael.<\/p>\n

Below is my first slide, to whet your appetite. I\u2019ve tried to make the whole paper\u00a0entertaining as well as serious.<\/p>\n
