I continue to hear from people who don't think America has a problem. One common suggestion from Christian gun lovers is that this is not a gun problem but a sin problem. That must mean that Americans are worse sinners than other democratic, economically developed nations. And I can believe that \u2013 because loving firearms is one of our national sins.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Another commenter introduced the word \u201cgundamentalists\u201d and I thought it deserved to be shared. It seems like a perfect term to demote those who stick adamantly to their faith in guns in spite of evidence that ought to undermine their worldview, if they were approaching the matter rationally. <\/p>\n
