What do you think \u2013 does that sound like a good idea?<\/p>\n<p>At any rate, before turning to that, there has been a lot that simply needs to be recapped from the blogosphere since my last round-up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dustinmartyr.wordpress.com\/2016\/01\/16\/did-mark-identify-jesus-as-a-preexistent-heavenly-figure-a-response-to-michael-bird\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dustin Smith<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/euangelion\/2016\/01\/the-gospel-of-mark-and-chalcedon\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Bird<\/a> have had some interesting interactions \u2013 both with the topic and each other \u2013 on their blogs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/danielomcclellan.wordpress.com\/2016\/01\/18\/markan-christology-and-the-messenger-of-yhwh\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel McClellan<\/a> blogged about Mark's Christology and the messenger of YHWH.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/historicaljesusresearch.blogspot.com\/2016\/02\/is-jesus-merely-human-messiah-in-mark.html\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Brant Pitre<\/a> looked at how the story of the sea crossing is suggestive of a theophany.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamestabor.com\/praying-to-jesus-from-jewish-messiah-to-incarnate-god\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">James Tabor<\/a> shared his perspective on how we get from the Jewish Messiah to the incarnate God in early Christology.<\/p>\n<p>Phil Long had posts about <a href=\"http:\/\/readingacts.com\/2016\/01\/19\/jewish-christian-and-high-christology\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jewish Christianity and high Christology<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/readingacts.com\/2016\/01\/20\/jewish-christianity-according-to-n-t-wright\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the definition of Jewish Christianity offered by N. T. Wright<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/zondervanacademic.com\/blog\/is-marks-gospel-theological-these-7-themes-affirm-it-is\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Zondervan<\/a> offered arguments in favor of the theological character of Mark's Gospel.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Montonini <a href=\"http:\/\/newtestamentperspectives.blogspot.com\/2016\/02\/the-enigmatic-nature-of-marks-gospel.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">shared a quote from Vincent Taylor<\/a> about the enigmatic Christ and the Messianic secret in Mark.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/jesuscreed\/2016\/02\/03\/jesus-remembered-is-also-jesus-interpreted\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Scot McKnight<\/a> blogged about Jesus being interpreted in the process of being remembered.<\/p>\n<p>There's also a <a href=\"http:\/\/onscript.study\/podcast\/joshua-jipp-christ-is-king\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">podcast<\/a> of related interest, although not about the Gospel of Mark. In it, <a href=\"http:\/\/onscript.study\/podcast\/joshua-jipp-christ-is-king\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Joshua Jipp talks about Christ as king<\/a> in Paul's Christology. And <a href=\"http:\/\/itsinthetext.blogspot.com\/2016\/01\/one-great-tri-personal-book-part-vii.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Shaun Rufener<\/a> has been blogging about the book <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1498224261\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1498224261&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=jamefmcgrshom-20&amp;linkId=MUOB27GYIS24Z5HC\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">The Son of God: Three Views of the Identity of Jesus<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=jamefmcgrshom-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1498224261\" id=\"blogsy-1454539842595.5786\" class=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" alt=\"\"><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there are also a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2007\/10\/is-the-incarnation-part-of-christianitys-core.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">posts of mine<\/a> from the past which touch on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2010\/08\/hurtado-dunn-and-gathercole-on-the-pre-existence-and-worship-of-jesus-in-new-testament-christology.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Christology in the Synoptic Gospels<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2011\/05\/synoptic-christology-and-pre-existence.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">question of whether Jesus is depicted as pre-existent there<\/a>.
