Students\u00a0will study the period starting at the end of the 2nd millennium BCE\u00a0up through to the Muslim conquest in the 7th century CE and explore\u00a0a variety of issues through lectures, seminars, field trips, study\u00a0of the Bible and Modern Hebrew, and hands-on participation in\u00a0archaeological excavations.<\/p>\n<p>For the upcoming academic year, starting October 30, 2011, two\u00a0$5,000 scholarships will be awarded to two outstanding students who\u00a0wish to broaden their knowledge and understanding of ancient Israel.\u00a0The scholarships will be granted to students chosen by an academic\u00a0committee (Profs.
