There is\u00a0no need for anyone to say \u201cblessed are the successful\u201d or \u201cblessed are the rich\u201d or \u201cblessed are the powerful.\u201d It is typically a given, an assumption, the sort of thing\u00a0that doesn\u2019t even need saying.<\/p>\n

What Jesus said, on the other hand, immediately raises questions. Who will feed those who hunger? When? In what sense are they blessed? And what will happen to those who have fed themselves while others go hungry?<\/p>\n
