Teaching Windows Vista to Trust its Users"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>Having had much interest in <a href=\"http:\/\/exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\/2007\/12\/vista-black-screen-after-login.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">my solution to the black screen after login problem on Vista<\/a>, I was encouraged to share what I know (even though it isn\u2019t my own solution) about shutting off the requests for confirmation when running a program.<\/p>\n<p>The name of this annoying feature is the <a href=\"http:\/\/technet2.microsoft.com\/WindowsVista\/en\/library\/00d04415-2b2f-422c-b70e-b18ff918c2811033.mspx?mfr=true\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">User Account Controls<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/howto\/windows-vista\/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">All you need to do to switch it off<\/a> is search for \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Run_as_administrator\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">User Account Controls<\/a>\u201d \u2013 then all you need is the willingness once you\u2019ve done that to keep clicking that you do indeed want <a href=\"http:\/\/lifehacker.com\/software\/vista\/windows-vista-tip--disable-annoying-need-your-permission-to-continue-prompts-230866.php\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">to switch it off<\/a>, even when it asks repeatedly whether you are sure, and suggests it isn\u2019t a good idea. The links in this post will help if you need step-by-step and even pictorial guides. You can even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/howto\/windows-vista\/stop-the-annoying-windows-has-blocked-some-startup-programs-balloon\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">get rid of the \u201cWindows has blocked some programs\u201d balloon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With all these requests for confirmation, I am reminded of the piece of humor that has circulated (which is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snopes.com\/humor\/jokes\/autos.asp\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">not an account of something that actually happened<\/a>) about <a href=\"http:\/\/unix.sjcc.edu\/GMvMicrosoft.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">what it would look like if GM made computers and if Microsoft made cars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-1300163964304031634?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Having had much interest in my solution to the black screen after login problem on Vista, I was encouraged to share what I know (even though it isn\u2019t my own solution) about shutting off the requests for confirmation when running a program.
