\"Alt-Jesus\"<\/p>\n

This sign seems like a nice complement to the political cartoon I shared yesterday. The irony that many have been pointing out is that not only the political candidate supported by the religious right, but the\u00a0leaders of that movement themselves, sound less and less like Christ and more and more like his opposite.<\/p>\n

And another word for the opposite of Christ is anti-Christ.<\/p>\n

And if \u201cAlt-Jesus\u201d is simply an alternative Jesus, like \u201calternative facts,\u201d then let me quote the apostle Paul on that topic:<\/p>\n

I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent\u2019s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.\u00a0For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough (2 Corinthians 11:3-4<\/a>).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
