For such individuals, there is no actual understanding of what Christianity teaches, except on some vague level. Being a Christian is, for such people, not about living a certain way, or adhering to certain values that involve turning the other cheek.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\/2007\/12\/new-perspective-on-paul-mirror-reading.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Paul the apostle challenged those who considered themselves God\u2019s chosen ones and others automatically condemned because they are outsiders to think again<\/a>. If he had lived today, he might have added a mention of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2007\/US\/12\/12\/subway.attack\/index.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">an incident on a New York train, when Christians beat up a Jewish man and a Muslim came to his aid<\/a>, in making his point in <a href=\"http:\/\/exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/top-ten-verses-of-scripture-part-2.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Romans 2:6-11<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/taking-things-on-faith.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">In modern English \u201cfaith\u201d is understood as believing certain things to be true<\/a>, and thus being right (with the corollary that others are wrong). All of this leads to <a href=\"http:\/\/exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\/2007\/12\/new-perspective-on-paul-mirror-reading.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">a gross misunderstanding of Paul\u2019s point about faith and works<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know how to conclude this, except to say: Happy <a href=\"http:\/\/menachemmendel.net\/blog\/2007\/12\/07\/hanukkahholiday-of-hearth-and-home\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hanukkah<\/a>, and thank you Hassan Askari for being a \u201cgood Samaritan\u201d (or more to the point, as Jesus might have actually said if he told the parable today, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2007\/US\/12\/12\/subway.attack\/index.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">good <em>Muslim<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogossary.com\/define\/hat-tip\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">HT<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/pharyngula\/2007\/12\/a_jew_a_muslim_and_10_christia.php\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pharyngula<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-2950771322358954194?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For many Christians, being a Christian is about being right and everyone else being wrong.
