I’m sorry that my camera battery ran out before the end of the two-hour session. I’ll happily say more about what was in the missing segment, but regular readers will probably be able to guess the kinds of things I might say about Canon.

Here are some more photos from Trade Day…

The Will Call line was incredibly long, as it usually is:

I was very lucky and managed to go to pick up my non-Trade Day items at a mid-afternoon time when there was hardly any line. Even when the line runs through most of the Indiana Convention Center, however, they do an incredibly job of keeping things flowing and of directing traffic.

The next session I went to was by the inventors of a card game called Search and Destroy, available from The Game Crafter, which can be used to get students thinking and talking about database searches. It is a very cool concept. You draw cards with keywords and actually search in a database online to find them on your turn. You can add modifiers to your own search or others. I managed to knock another player out of the game who had keywords that included “Darwin,” “insect,” and “zombie” by playing a card on him that required his results to be peer reviewed… 🙂
https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/search-destroy

The last session I went to (before going to dinner and playing a couple of rounds of Canon with Butler University colleagues) was on the use of simulations in the classroom.
