No, this post isn\u2019t about a newly-discovered extracanonical text. It is good news regarding yours truly (using \u2018the lesser\u2019 to distinguish myself from my doctoral supervisor, James Dunn). My second book has been accepted for publication by the University of Illinois Press<\/a>! The title is The Only True God<\/em>, and it will look at Christology and monotheism in early Christianity and its Jewish context, including some studies of relevant information from Jewish works several centuries earlier and later<\/a>, in an attempt to assess whether the Christology of these early Christians fit within the monotheism of the time. My main argument is that it did, and that monotheism did not become a point of dispute between Jews and Christians (or between Christian and non-Christian Jews) until significantly after the New Testament period.<\/p>\n
