I\u2019d been waiting for an update on a conference which had initially been proposed to be held this summer. Here\u2019s the updated information from the ARAM Society web site<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Mandaeism, 25-28 July 2013 (University of Stockholm \u2013 Sweden)<\/strong><\/p>\n

ARAM Society for Syro-Mesopotamian Studies is organizing its Thirty Seventh International Conference on the theme of Mandaeism<\/em><\/strong>, to held <\/em><\/strong>at the to be held at University of Stockholm, 25-28 July 2013.<\/p>\n

The conference will start on Wednesday 25 July at 9am finishing on Saturday 27 July at 6pm. A Mandaean baptism is scheduled for Sunday morning 28th<\/sup> July.<\/p>\n

The conference aims to study Mandaeism and its relationship to Near Eastern religions and Gnostic movements. Each speaker\u2019s paper is limited to 30 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes for discussion. All papers given at the conference will be considered for publication in a future edition of the ARAM Periodical, subject to editorial review.
