It was great to meet some people for the first time, including Brian LePort, whom I did not recognize until he covered the lower part of his face (see the photo on his blog Near Emmaus to see why). <a href=\"http:\/\/targuman.org\/blog\/2011\/11\/20\/bibliobloggers-reception\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Chris Brady took some photos and posted them on his blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Before that, the Blogger session was interesting, with presentations by Chris Brady and by Richard Price, the creator of Academia.edu.<\/p>\n<p>I missed the first part of that session because I went to hear Jorunn Buckley\u2019s paper on Lady Drower\u2019s correspondence and her disagreement with Widengren about literal versus meaning-oriented translation of Mandaean texts, particularly liturgical ones. It really resonated with some of the challenges that we have been facing while working on the Mandaean Book of John.<\/p>\n<p>The day yesterday also included a lot of chance encounters with people that I had hoped to bump into at some point. <\/p>\n<p>Today I\u2019ll be presenting on Religion in Doctor Who!<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The bibliobloggers\u2019 get-together last night was delightful.
