I found the article in today\u2019s New York Times<\/em> about Evangelical voters striking. The attitude of those mentioned in or interviewed for the article seems to be \u201canyone but Obama.\u201d<\/a> They would prefer a \u201cbig government Republican\u201d<\/a> to a \u201cbig government Democrat.\u201d They would prefer a Mormon and a person with a history of infidelity to Obama. Why? Is he \u201cthe wrong kind of Christian<\/a>\u201d and if so, in what sense<\/a>? Or is this just more evidence that Evangelicals really do believe that it is \u201cby their fruits you will know them\u201d and that they believe the relevant spiritual and moral fruit includes tax cuts for the rich and has nothing to do with either theology or fidelity to one\u2019s spouse<\/a>?<\/p>\n
