\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\nI will be serving as moderator at the end of this month for a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theocon.live\/fandomentals\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">panel<\/a> at the first ever <a href=\"http:\/\/theocon.live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\" decorated-link\">TheoCon<\/a> (it is better to spell it with a Greek theta, as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theocon.live\/fandomentals\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u0398eoCon<\/a>, to avoid confusion with the other meaning of the term). This will be a convention focused on the exploration of the intersection of theology and popular culture. To my knowledge this will be not only the first ever\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theoconlive\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u0398eoCon<\/a>, but the first event of its kind, period. And so I was delighted that the mastermind (or perhaps superhero<\/em> is more appropriate) behind the convention, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ststep.org\/blog\/2018\/08\/03\/welcoming-shayna-watson-curate\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Shayna Watson<\/a>, was happy to <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/user-325631979\/episode-4-with-shayna-watson\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">appear on the podcast<\/a> and talk more about her vision for the event, what led her to pursue it, as well other matters at the intersection of theology and popular culture. There is still time for you to get tickets and plan to attend!<\/p>\nThe keynote speaker will be <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2x7O5GR\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rev. Dr. Chuck Robertson<\/a>, canon to the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church USA. He and I have been friends since we were both doctoral students at Durham University in England, and I\u2019ve contributed to a number of volumes that he has edited. But one is particularly significant to me:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2N5kPvo\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Religion as Entertainment<\/em><\/a>. That was the first place that I published on the subject of the intersection of religion and science fiction. And so that opportunity proved genuinely life-changing to me, setting me on a course that has led to all sorts of interesting things.<\/p>\nI\u2019m also eager to see my good friend <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2xabvvs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\" decorated-link\">Rev.
