In the conversation, we explore some of the wonderful ways that professors and Bible publishers have worked together and can work together. I also asked them what the most bizarre suggestion for a new Bible was that they had received, and unfortunately they only recalled a couple of\u00a0<em>really<\/em> good examples after we finished recording. I can\u2019t go into details because they are not things that can be shared publicly. But some quite bizarre novelty Bibles have actually been published, and so I consider it to their credit that they didn\u2019t pursue this sort of thing! It would\u00a0 have tarnished the seriousness with which academics can take their work \u2013 but I am also pretty sure that some of the ideas that were proposed to them would sell quite a few copies\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Of related interest, There\u2019s a <a href=\"http:\/\/dni.tau.ac.il\/publication\/predators-in-the-thickets-a-film-interview-with-two-botanists-and-a-zoologist-in-israel\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">video about a new online Dictionary of Nature Imagery in the Bible<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/steveawiggins.com\/2019\/03\/18\/not-your-parents-bible\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Steve Wiggins blogged about Bible literacy and awareness of extracanonical texts in the internet era vs. in the past<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.episcopalcafe.com\/grieving-the-american-bible-society\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\" decorated-link\">The Lead had a piece about troubling shifts on the part of the American Bible Society<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/faiths\/christianity\/biblical-translations-we-keep-screwing-up.aspx\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Beliefnet highlighted some persistent translation issues in English Bibles<\/a>.
