I\u2019ve long puzzled over Jim West\u2019s unchallenged and seemingly unbeatable status as the number one biblioblogger<\/a>. I mean, he managed to keep that status even when LOST was drawing to its finale\u2026without blogging about LOST! How is that even possible?!<\/p>\n

I have suspected for some time that the secret is neither sheer popularity nor totally depraved and dilettantistly<\/a> Zwinglified content, but the sheer frequency with which he posts. Combined with the number of people who subscribe to his blog feed, that will translate into a lot of visits, even if those are from people who quickly skip over the photos of people at Wal-Mart or the expressions of climate science dilettantism.<\/p>\n

And so I\u2019m offering a challenge to anyone who would like to give Jim West a serious run for his money, or at least test my theory about the secret of Jim West\u2019s success. Pick a month in the near future, and make it your committment that every time Jim West posts something, you will post twice. It doesn\u2019t matter about what. Just post something<\/a>. I\u2019ll be curious to see what happens. <\/p>\n

So who\u2019s ready to take the Totally Depraved Jim West Blogging Challenge (wearing a snuggie while using a Mac is not required), and\u00a0find out whether it is possible to\u00a0start 2011\u00a0with a\u00a0new top biblioblogger?<\/p>\n
