Special showcase featuring undergraduate and graduate student work<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due date for consideration: June 30, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Publish date: October 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Popular Culture Studies Journal<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is an open-access academic, peer-reviewed, refereed journal for scholars, academics, and students from the many disciplines that study popular culture, as well as the fans and general public with an interest in popular culture texts, practices, and industries. The journal serves the MPCA\/ACA membership, as well as scholars globally who recognize and support its mission based on expanding the way we view popular culture as a fundamental component within the contemporary world.<\/p>\n

For the upcoming October 2019 issue, we are seeking to do a showcase of undergraduate and graduate students\u2019 work on any aspect of popular culture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are looking for 10-20 page papers following MLA style that examine different popular culture texts, communities, industries, and individuals from across time and around the world, and from any theoretical or methodological perspective. The main element of the paper is that an undergraduate or graduate student was the primary researcher and scholar producing the work.<\/p>\n

All submissions will undergo the peer-review process, so we recommend faculty mentors help their students who are unfamiliar with the submission and peer-review aspects of academic publishing.<\/p>\n

Submissions should contain a keyword \u2014 \u201cUndergraduate Student\u201d or \u201cGraduate Student\u201d \u2014 to identify that the submission is meant in particular for this upcoming issue.<\/p>\n

To be considered for this showcase, submissions must be in by June 30, 2019.<\/p>\n
