Several of them are <a href=\"http:\/\/io9.com\/5890297\/photo-manipulations-offer-realistic-visions-of-life-after-the-apocalypse\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">very striking<\/a>. This one, however, particularly caught my attention:<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6617\" href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2012\/03\/post-apocalyptic-churches.html\/post-apocalyptic-church\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6617\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2012\/03\/post-apocalyptic-church.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"449\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I suspect that churches that remained standing after an apocalypse would take on new or renewed significance \u2013 not necessarily in a manner that was typical of what went on their previously.<\/p>\n<p>That is, after all,<a href=\"http:\/\/religion.blogs.cnn.com\/2012\/03\/04\/churches-aid-recovery-in-storm-hit-town\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> something of what we see going on at this very moment in Indiana and other places<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.internetmonk.com\/archive\/waste-and-void-tornadoes-in-s-indiana\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> ravaged by tornadoes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From a sci-fi perspective and interest, what would you imagine the role might be, in a post-apocalyptic world, of religion and the buildings associated with it?<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The science fiction site IO9 posted some photos altered by a Russian artist to depict post-apocalyptic scenes.
