First, <a href=\"http:\/\/xenos-theology.blogspot.com\/2012\/02\/jerk-factory.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jonathan Robinson shared<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sojo.net\/blogs\/2011\/12\/27\/bait-and-switch-contemporary-christianity\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">a post by Richard Beck<\/a>, and added this cartoon:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/users.commspeed.net\/guzzi\/images\/godskitchen.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"606\"><\/p>\n<p>But in fact, the point of the post was more in line with this image which my sister sent to me. It has some coarse language, sorry, but the point seemed worthwhile enough when combined with a sense of sibling obligation that I thought I\u2019d share it.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6669\" href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2012\/03\/is-not-being-a-jerk-the-heart-of-christianity.html\/jesus-for-dummies\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6669\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/exploringourmatrix\/files\/2012\/03\/Jesus-for-Dummies.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"707\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/weknowmemes.com\/2012\/01\/you-were-a-believer-yes-but-you-skipped-the-not-being-a-jerk-about-it-part\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">And both of those reminded me of this cartoon<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/ih39P.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"535\"><\/p>\n<p>It obviously takes more than not being a jerk to be a Christian. But how many would agree that being a jerk and being a Christian <em>ought<\/em> to be fundamentally antithetical, even if being a jerk is combined in practiced with just about every ideology, trait, standpoint and belief\/unbelief system humans have ever adhered to?<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several things have converged on a similar theme.
